Newcastle Energy Day Friday 22nd October 2010

We were down at Newcastle town centre on October 22nd. We were there to talk all things green and had lots of interactive activities to try. This was a great opportunity for local people to come down for advice for ways to become more environmentally friendly and saving energy.

Reaseheath Festival Sunday 16th May 2010

reasheathScience for Sustainability attended the Reaseheath festival on Sunday 16th May 2010 in the glorious sunshine. The festival allowed all kinds of exhibitors to show case their talents and gadgets. The team spoke to the general public and students at the college about sustainable living and renewable energy and had their models and hands on experiments to demonstrate green energy!

Big Green Day

The team attended the Big Green Day at Newcastle Children’s Centre from 10.00am until 2.00pm on Saturday 6th March 2010.

The science for sustainability team were on hand at Newcastle children’s centre in Knutton to talk all about climate change, demonstrating renewable energy technologies and providing information on carbon savings with the interactive carbon gym! Ten lucky families also got the chance to take part in our solar panel scrapheap challenge!
